Tattoos & Piercings for New Baltimore

New Baltimore is close enough that a lot of our clients think of us as their New Baltimore shop, and we're not going to argue with them. It's a six-minute run down Gratiot from Washington Street, which is shorter than most people's commute to work. Downtown New Baltimore has held onto its character better than most waterfront towns in the county, and there's a real crossover between the people who keep it that way and the people sitting in our chairs.

What New Baltimore comes to us for

There's a strong boating culture out of Anchor Bay, and it shows up in the work — nautical pieces, compass roses, coordinates of a favorite anchorage, and a steady stream of people who need to know how a fresh tattoo handles a summer on the water. The honest answer is that it doesn't, which is why a lot of New Baltimore clients book their bigger sessions for October through April and spend the summer healed and in the sun with a bottle of SPF 50.

Where most people start.

Custom Tattoo Design

Original artwork drawn for your body and nobody else's — from a first small piece to a full bodysuit.

Black & Grey Tattoos

Smooth greywash, honest blacks, and the kind of contrast that still reads twenty years from now.

Photorealism Tattoos

Skin texture, reflected light and real depth — realism that survives the jump from photo to flesh.

Ear Lobe Piercings

Single, double or stacked lobes done with a needle and implant-grade jewelry — never a piercing gun.

Cartilage Piercings

Helix, forward helix, flat, rook and snug — placed to your anatomy, not to a diagram.

Nostril Piercings

Placed to your nose's own crease and curve — studs, hoops and high nostrils.

New Baltimore questions

Asked by people in your area.

How far is Inkslingers from downtown New Baltimore?

About three miles and six minutes straight down Gratiot Ave. We're at 50185 Gratiot between 22 and 23 Mile, with parking out front.

When's the best time of year to get a big tattoo if I'm on the water all summer?

Fall through early spring. A healing tattoo can't take sun, lake water or hours of exposure, and Anchor Bay summers are exactly that. Start a large project in October and you'll be fully healed and ready to show it off by the time the docks go back in.
