Tattoos & Piercings for St. Clair Shores

St. Clair Shores has the Nautical Mile, the biggest concentration of boat wells on the lake, and a population that treats summer as a full-contact sport. We see a lot of Shores clients, and the conversation almost always ends up at the same place: how do you own good tattoos and still spend five months a year on the water?

What St. Clair Shores comes to us for

The answer is scheduling and sunscreen, in that order. Book significant work between October and March so it heals through the cold months, and treat SPF 50 on healed ink as non-negotiable from May onward. Sun is the single biggest factor in how a tattoo ages — bigger than the artist, bigger than the ink, bigger than anything you do in the first two weeks. Shores clients who take that seriously have work that still looks sharp twenty years on, and the ones who don't come back for restoration in eight.

Custom Tattoo Design

Original artwork drawn for your body and nobody else's — from a first small piece to a full bodysuit.

Black & Grey Tattoos

Smooth greywash, honest blacks, and the kind of contrast that still reads twenty years from now.

Photorealism Tattoos

Skin texture, reflected light and real depth — realism that survives the jump from photo to flesh.

Ear Lobe Piercings

Single, double or stacked lobes done with a needle and implant-grade jewelry — never a piercing gun.

Cartilage Piercings

Helix, forward helix, flat, rook and snug — placed to your anatomy, not to a diagram.

Nostril Piercings

Placed to your nose's own crease and curve — studs, hoops and high nostrils.

St. Clair Shores questions

Asked by people in your area.

How do I keep a tattoo from fading if I'm on the lake all summer?

Broad-spectrum SPF 50 on healed ink, every single time you're out — reapplied. UV breaks pigment down faster than anything else, and it's cumulative. A UV-protective long-sleeve rash guard is even better on long days. Never put sunscreen on a healing tattoo; keep it covered and shaded until it's fully closed.

Is it worth the drive up from the Shores?

Twenty-five minutes for something permanent is a reasonable trade, and most of our Shores clients decide it is after seeing healed work from the artist who'd be doing theirs. Come up for a free consultation before you commit to anything — that's what it's for.
